For the fourth year running, Budapest’s Városliget hosted AI Summit Budapest 2026, Central Europe’s largest AI conference, on September 7–8.

Spread across two iconic venues — the House of Hungarian Music and the Museum of Ethnography — the two-day event featured 10 themed stages and welcomed over 300 speakers from Hungary and abroad. Topics ranged from agentic AI and autonomous systems to the impact of AI on the economy, healthcare, education, cybersecurity, media, and regulation.

InnovITech Kft. took part in the robotics track, presenting our Grapler project — a grapevine-pruning robot that drew considerable attention from attendees eager to learn more about the technical details behind it.

Our presentation covered the rover and vineyard simulation, including a highly realistic wheel simulation model. We also highlighted our Digital Twin approach, which we use to train the AI models that control both the rover’s navigation and the robotic arm’s pruning movements.

Visitors also got hands-on with our VR-based training tool for grapevine pruning — a spin-off from our simulation work. Meanwhile, our AI team lead, Krisztián Kusper, joined a roundtable with other Hungarian robotics companies to discuss the gap between simulation and reality, and why capturing every detail — from soil and physics to sensor imperfections — matters so much for building robots that actually work in the real world.

For the InnovITech team, the summit was a great chance to catch up on the latest AI trends, grow our network, and bring back fresh ideas for our bioinformatics, automation, and robotics work. It was a pleasure to be part of one of Central Europe’s biggest AI events — and we’ll definitely be back next year!
